Anxiety, panic and stress can leave you feeling like you have no control over your feelings or reactions to certain situations. Being 'hijacked' by strong emotions happens to more people than you might think.
Often, when we experience a physical sensation, such as one we might associate with anxiety, trying to fight it and stop it from happening can seem to make it worse. This can be because of adrenaline rising in your body in response to a situation in which you feel anxious, stressed or uncomfortable, and the more you worry about it happening; the more adrenaline gets pumped into your system.
Anxiety can lead to panic attacks for some and it is estimated that around one in 50 people in the UK suffer from panic disorder.
Everyone experiences stress, anxiety or panic differently and through understanding how this is happening for you, and how it feels to you, I can show you how to change your state from the negative one that begins the chain, to a more positive one that you would like to experience instead. This can break the pattern, stopping it leading to the unwanted feelings, or it can mean that the feelings pass so quickly that you no longer notice them.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy can be very effective in helping to relieve feelings of anxiety, panic and stress - whether you are consciously aware of what triggers your anxiety or not. By working with the unconscious mind, we can uncover the negative patterns that lead to and maintain the problem, and work together to allow you to make the changes which mean that you can let go of the problem completely, and for good. As well as working in trance (a completely natural state of focussed concentration which puts your unconscious mind in a more receptive position), you can also learn techniques that you can use for yourself to transform the unwanted feelings into something more positive and useful.
