Pain Management

Cognitive Hypnotherapy for pain management.

The connection between mind and body is a powerful one.  The way we think can influence how our bodies feel, and physical sensations in the body can certainly affect our state of mind.

Take the example of anxiety, where an imagined, future event can evoke a strong physical response in a person, such as increased heart rate, sweating or shaking – and all this from what started with a thought.  Similarly,  think of how the feeling of pain in the body can affect mood, or even a person’s outlook on life.

Understanding this strong connection between mind and body means that it can be used to our advantage and using a powerful combination of Cognitive Hypnotherapy and techniques from NLP, it is possible to exercise some control over our natural pain killing abilities.  After all, neuroscience has shown us that our pain centres reside in the brain – it therefore makes sense that this is where we should look for the control mechanisms that can bring some relief for these problems.
