Cognitive Hypnotherapy for sports performance is a growing area. I have trained with the highly respected Trevor Silvester of the Quest Institute in the specialist field of Sports Mind Coaching. This is an area of special interest for Trevor, who has worked successfully with a number of people at the top of their sport. This means that I have available to me, the most cutting-edge techniques, with proven success, to help you achieve the level of performance you would like.

Many successful people in sport recognise that the mind plays a crucial role in their performance. However, while most have a highly developed relationship with their bodies, few know how to train their thoughts and emotions in order to develop peak performance at critical moments.  Those critical qualities that equal peak performance are often unconscious - things that are difficult to recreate if we try too hard, as our conscious effort can get in the way of something that has become almost instinctual.
 
There are some key elements to training your mind to work with your body and achieve the level of performance you would like consistently:
 
·         Creating a state of mind that will keep you in the zone whenever you need to be there
·         Letting go of any limiting beliefs you have, any fears of failure, any blocks to success
·         Staying motivated
·         Using your thoughts to create physical changes in your body – science has shown that the mind can build muscle, increase speed, or build a skill faster than training alone
·         Recovery from injury at the fastest rate possible, reducing pain and remaining positive

Sports Mind Coaching is an approach that blends together approaches and techniques from a range of disciplines to suit each athlete’s unique needs, so I can’t tell you what a typical program would be like, there is no such thing.
